Respondents were asked to rate their favorite 60 landmarks in a selection of categories (skyscrapers; parks and public spaces; museums; bridges; sports and performance venues; classic landmarks); each landmark was pictured and described. Classic landmarks opened in 1996 and earlier; new landmarks opened within the last 15 years (after 1996). All subject categories were available for rating at all times. Respondents were asked to identify whether they had seen the landmark; landmarks that are the most visited had the highest number of respondents who claimed to have “seen it.” Responses were collected and tabulated by travelandleisure.com
